ABOUT ALEX
Alexander Quercetti is currently a 5th year Architectural Engineering student at the Pennsylvania State University. He will graduate in May 2012 with an integrated Bachelor and Master of Architectural Engineering degree with a specialization in building mechanical systems. During the summer of 2010, Alex studied in Rome, Italy and received a minor in Architectural Studies. He expects to graduate with EIT status and hopes to be employed with an engineering firm that will help him gain experience as an engineer while allowing him to use his creativity and knowledge.
Alex has had two internships during his college career. The first was with Pancoast & Clifford, a General Contractor based in West Chester, PA where Alex gained an intimate understanding of the estimating and bidding processes. The second internship was with Southland Industries, a mechanical engineering and contracting firm in Washington, D.C. With Southland, Alex worked
with the Project Management, reviewing TAB reports and assisting with Functional Performance
Tests during the commissioning process of a 1.7 million sq. ft. government administration facility.

During his time at Penn State, Alex is involved in several activities including the Penn State chapter of the Architectural Engineering Institute (AEI), SSAE, where he is part of the mentoring program to help younger students with their studies. Alex is also a member of the student chapter of the American Society of Heating, Refrigeration, and Air Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) and he plans to travel to Chicago in January 2012 to attend the annual winter conference.
As a freshman, Alex re-established the Phi Kappa Sigma Fraternity at Penn State. During his sophomore year, Alex was both the Homecoming and Greek Week Chair of the fraternity. Alex was eventually elected president, where he gained invaluable leadership skills. Apart from his school and fraternity responsibilities, Alex enjoys playing tennis and traveling.
